W.R.W. Douglas Jr.

Ray of Hope Memorial Foundation Fund

Brother Douglas was initiated into our fraternal bond on April 2, 2005 through the Alpha Kappa Lambda Chapter. Brother Douglas held the office Chaplain and was an integral part of the Roanoke community having served as a recognized community leader whose impact remains.

The W. Ray W. Douglas, Jr. Ray of Hope Memorial Fund was established to honor the memory of a man of integrity, a man of honor, a man who persevered through many challenges known and unknown. On May 19, 2021, Rev. W. Ray W. Douglas, Jr, departed this earth leaving his beloved and devoted wife, Dr. Nicole A. Johnson-Douglas and 2 amazingly gifted young children, Rayah and Rayghan Douglas. He also left a large assignment of continuing his legacy of education, leadership, servanthood, and spiritual formation.

After reviewing the applications and submissions for the Inaugural Cohort of W. Ray W. Douglas, Jr. Ray of Hope Scholars, we are pleased to announce that we have selected 4 young people as part of this historic and premier group of scholars that will continue the legacy of Rev. W. Ray W. Douglas, Jr. Each of their stories and journey thus far exhibit the qualities of this man that we will forever cherish in our hearts and serves as an example for Rayah and Rayghan
